Live from the stand thread

3 little bucks and 1 doe here. All just walking and eating.

Congrats!

The rut has been uneventful to say the least by us. Biggest buck I've seen is a 6 point. Haven't seen a deer past 830 last 6 days.

You got that right. I've hunted the last 10 days and only one buck seen. I have not heard/seen any chasing, grunting, bucks cruising....it's been pathetic. Just saw a doe and fawn out for a stroll.

Heading out here in a few, I have today and tomorrow then back to work.

As awful as it sounds I'm ready to go back to work for a few days.

I was almost thinking the same thing. I can't figure out what is going on. The buck my buddy shot yesterday didn't even look or smell rutty.

Back in the same low pressure stand for SE winds. Cause the S winds won't stop. Until tomorrow when we get rain and 50 mph winds.

Got here at 10:00 because im not seeing much in the AM or PM. Figure I'll try this mid day stuff

Bill, what kind of tree is that you are sitting in? It looks like maybe hawthorn with all those spurs, but it grows coniferous branches with it's own lighting system???  ;) :D

I'm not technically in it. I'm next to it in an extended tripod. It's a honey locust. Kinda between it and two walnuts. The stand has to be here to work. I ain't climbing a honey locust and walnuts sway in the wind like wet noodles.

I have trash all over the trees. Xmas tree limbs, burlap and even pieces of old cedar. It helps break me up. Or so I make myself believe.

Part of the trouble here is 120 acres of corn still up, I've watched deer all this last week running in and out of it. First time sitting in this stand all year.

Ok 10 to 2 no deer. I changed gears. I'm hunting a wide open Gun box stand with plastic boy.

Three small hedge rows connect some patches of timber where I'm at.

Beans, clover and trash grass at my back.

Plastic boy is on the edge of 2 acres of water hemp, clover and stunted brassicas that fall off into switch then timber.

Just saw a doe poking around in the switch.

No doubt this is a crap bow stand but it's got a heck of a view.

Think I needed that this afternoon. I'd like to see some deer even if they are a mile away
