Quite the project getting the buck out but I finally made it out to a stand. It would be sweet to double up today.

But mostly in October just before dark. Hmmm :(

Neighbor just fired up his chainsaw a quarter mile away. I hope that gets things moving. I haven't seen a deer since 0845

My father had about a 30 minute drive to another county this morning and saw three mature bucks on the move at different places. That tells me it's on here, because that's not a common sight. My vacation doesn't start until Saturday. I hope the action hasn't cooled off by then.

4 does 4 fawns went by...0 bucks. Not seeing any rut action at all here.

Had 11 does come through at 3:00 and 4 more came through just at dark, no antlers today.

Ended up seeing 8. 2 small bucks and 6 does.

Ouch, that's sucks badger. I seen those 9 before 0830. One of the bucks came back a 1630. They just weren't moving.

Buddy of mine (different from the guy who lost a buck last week) learned a valuable lesson sat evening. He was lowering his gear down from the stand with a couple minutes still on the clock when an eight pointer walked broadside right past him. He is still trying for his first buck.

Thanks, my buddy shot it. I was helping track, he said I have better eyes and wanted me to take the lead. Blood started out great and fizzled out. He went about 250yds in that nasty cattail/willow/tags. I saw him laying dead about 20yds in front of me and turned around and told my buddy theres blood going in that direction keep following it, I have to take a leak. I never told him I saw it laying there, I wanted him to walk up on it. He was stoked when he walked up on it.:)
