Live from the stand thread

Wowzer Bill, that is one awesome buck!! Congrats bud!!

Ugh I wish our season was in. It was 48 this morning with an overnight low of 42 tonight. This morning and tomorrow morning would be perfect considering it's been in the 80s this week.
yeah fall showed up yesterday for sure..

I’m in my blind for the first hunt of the year. Had a good entry with the wind in my face and I feel good about this hunt. My target has shown here in daylight several times lately.

if I don’t score this evening I’m spending the night and hunting in the morning. This will be the first time I have ever done that. My trigger happy neighbor is watching around my home tonight, so no worries.
;)

Good luck in the morning

Good luck in the morning
Thanks. I’m awake and it’s about 20 minutes until legal shooting light. But, I’m not feeling good about this morning because I heard coyotes howl not too far away.

Heck I don’t think the bucks are afraid of yotes. I get them on camera moments after a coyote goes by.

Fingers crossed.

Thanks Bill. I’m headed out a tad early. It’s starting to rain and I definitely don’t want to blood track in rain. I had good shots at does and a young buck this morning but my target wasn’t back.

One of our target bucks day lighted yesterday AM, so Logan went for a PM sit. He and two other bucks came straight in and got to 22 yards. The younger bucks fed around on muscadines but he just stood there looking at our blind for 5-6 minutes, then he turned and walked straight away while the others continued to feed. Logan never had a shot.

Must be getting old, 43 out and wishing I brought the bigger glassing mittens. Winds got a bite.

Decided to go for a walk to warm up. This fawn saw me from 100 and ran up to 15 to investigate.

My season started last week, but my cameras don’t have anything but fawns, does, and a couple forks. I haven’t even gotten my bow out of the case yet. I could go out and take a doe, but I can do that during rifle season, cooler then.

This thread keeps me excited, and with hope that something huntable will show up.

First sit yesterday afternoon and this guy followed the plan perfectly. Was 50/50 on him but passed after determining he was a 1.5. Watched him feed for about an hour.
