They were just starting to bite pretty good when the storm blew in. We're making plans for a fish fry in a couple of weeks so we've got to get some fillets in the freezer.
Got up to the farm yesterday and mowed the orchard plus sprayed the apples. Had a series of storms come through last week and this was my first trip since then. It got the big white oak by my shop, but that was about the worst of it.
Not sure when we'll get our beans planted. The spring and general seeping have water standing in it.
That's the first thing I told my wife Bows!
Said I'd look to see if one of its offspring was growing under it and if not it looked like a great place for another chestnut.
Finally got up to the farms today after a two week absence. Dunstans are blooming, apples growing, pecan grafts look great, and a few flower pics. Wore my helper out too it seems.
Got up to the farms Saturday. I finally put my cameras out and checked on the trees. Apples are looking good and my American Chestnut is pushing 30'!
The lone apple is William's Pride.
Also got our beans sprayed. They're a little weedy, but the roundup should get that under control.
Hope everyone is having a great summer. I've been busier than a cat in a hail storm!
Looking good you will be pumping out apples and chestnuts like Native H before long. How old is that chestnut? I checked all mine this weekend and only 3 of 20 need to be replaced hopefully they make it to next year.

Worked at the farm a little today and checked our cameras. The bean field is doing great this year especially for the late start it got.
Chuck has the cards, but if anything interesting shows up he or I will pit it up.
I just picked a 5 gallon bucket of tomatoes so I've got to get busy!
I've not had a chance to update lately, but I've been slowly reclaiming an old pasture that was becoming a sweet gum forest. Hogged what I could then h&s the bigger trees. I've got plans for this field plus our bean plot is in it.
They're looking great, just need me and Chuck in a stand next week.
Got our first winesap apples too.
