Live from the stand thread

Dead as a door nail this evening. Heard one snort way to the west of me but the wind was blowing right out of the west so isk what spooked it didn't even have any tree rats bothering me. Field is all wheat

The honey hole I can rarely hunt because of access point and wind is almost always wrong. Finally had a good wind and was action packed but nothing big enough.

Slow day for me too hot and swirling winds. Too hot , but figure I might as well sit. Saw a bunch of turkeys. Dang things disappear when I have a tag.

Thanks it’s been fun so far. Nervous as a cat in a room full of rocking chairs about the neighbors but so far so good. Also passed on this guy but I shouldn’t have. He just showed up last week for one pic but neighbors have had him for a while. Probably 6.5. Just won’t amount to much. Was too late once I realized who he was. 8th buck this am with 6 of them being mature

I agree that is a very mature robust bodied animal. Very long nose for such a small rack.

Had two smaller bucks within range last 45 minutes of shooting . called one in with a blind hail mary grunt call. Kinda crazy how they can pin point your location. Had two yotes come in earlier in the day one had white socks and a white tip tail.

Game on...light sprinkle always gets me excited

^Like the looks of that!

Last weekend was gun opener in MN, boneheaded rookie mistakes for me on both mornings. First morning i grabbed my tags only to realize I'd only purchased archery and bonus doe tags this year - usually get archery/firearm/muzzleloader all at once. Made it to the store just in time to get a tag that was valid for the day. Couldn't get to plan A stand because deer were feeding in the field I needed to walk by.

Sunday got whooped by not adjusting for daylight savings time. Had a solid buck run right under the stand after the neighbor leaving his stand on an ATV bumped him and the doe he was locked onto from no-mans land. Didn't see him coming to be ready for a shot.

Looks like there might be half a foot of snow in the northwoods this weekend but sounds like freezing rain could make it real crunchy..

well I got to my stand only to realize the tree stand blew over. Lol had to take everything off of it and find new tree. Also done doing all day sits In 70+ degree weather.

Dang Spud! You're having a great season now with your 2nd moose. Congrats buddy.

Wow!

81 degrees in November! I fixed my tractor flat tire with bullet proof goo today, and then tried to sight in my shotgun for next week and I think I have a defected scope. So I'll be going to the gun store tomorrow. I also found my biggest shed. Setting up a new stand. It was stuck hanging in a tree.
