Not live but from the morning. Opening day. Only a doe and a fawn spotted but a nice morning to be back in the stand
I am blessed to have lots of hemlocks. Most of my stands are in them. The branches weep down and give you perfect cover. I have a swath of hemlocks that is probably a mile long by couple hundred yards wide.I miss hunting in Hemlocks. haven't sat among them in years.
This pic brings back a lot of great memories. not of big deer, but of big dreams....
Those some of the last few survivors on my property. I need to take pics of behind that stand. It's the neighbors property where the hemlocks haven't been removed. Unfortunately you can see 100 yds because the bottom 20-30 feet of the branches are all dead. The younger trees like those in the pic appear to be much healthier. Hopefully they'll make a comeback.I miss hunting in Hemlocks. haven't sat among them in years.

In the past 3 years I've also seen a wolverine, a fisher, and a black bear in this section of woods.
My bad, a badger, not a wolverine.A wolverine in central WI?
Isn’t that the truth. First time, I forget all the stuff I should have.Out this afternoon, was 78 F and 4 does came out at closing. At least I figured out that I arn't ready gear wise. 1st bow hunts are good for that. October lull time.
