I was mostly hunting with coyotes in mind tonight. The deer came into the brassica/rye plot with apparent hunger pains. Saw a few nice up n comers. No shooters. Still hoping for another young doe.
My dad agreed with you. It was the first buck he pulled the trigger on since 1/1/16, so I think he was ready for one. With a surgery planned for next fall, it'll be a long two year wait before he can get back out there. We were happy to get this guy, and it was a fun hunt for the ol man.

About finished with my first osage self bow.
Still have a bit of sanding to do then wax.
Fun to shoot tho, got wrist slapped pretty good a couple times.

First sit tonight. Thought I was skunked but had a doe walk through at last light. She was standing 10 yards broadside at 2 minutes to close when I took the shot. Only a 1.5 year old, but don't have the luxury of passing up deer on public land. Might not see another.
