Yeah red deer are closely related to elk.

Left my dang phone at home, but 10 minutes before close, on public land, had a badger come walking through. He milled about right under me, sniffing the legs of my ladder stand. First time I've seen one that up close and personal.

by 15 hours later you do mean you went home slept, got up and started over? Just asking because my brother has tagged along as a spectator on hunts in Germany. Like you they sleep there, stay there, live there until it’s over....

I got up at 6, was in the woods by 7, hunted 13 hours, went home and ate some chicken wings, went back out and shot this guy after about 2 hours. So I mean 15 hours of hunting yesterday. Got home at 2 this morning.

Sometimes I go out to the terrain and live there, but that is mostly during the full moon.

Sitting up in the misty mountains, waiting for a red deer to pass by. Thick fog and no wind make for difficult conditions. Not holding my breath.

I think he's about 10 years old. Doing a Euro mount for the living room.

Those are some cool deer. What country are you hunting in and how many can you bag per year? You must have a really large freezer!

Norway. Stuck here because of Covid. Was supposed to be hunting in Ohio this fall, but that got cancelled.

I'm hunting three properties with a total of 18 deer up for grabs. Two of the properties are hunted by clubs. The other is private, and the landowners own the deer quota as well. I got a about 35lbs in the freezer so far.
