I doubt it's toast from him catching movement. I would think a big wiff of human scent followed by seeing you would do more harm than just catching movement and bolting.

Took an exploratory run this afternoon. Salt water Tide marshes change over time and it’s been some time since I ran the ditches.

Wasn’t really hunting but my son brought a gun along.

This surf scoter zigged when he should have zagged.....

Not a pile of mallards but a different kinda duck. :)
