Stuck to my word and passed up a special young buck with crabs and palmated beam ends. I seriously doubt he makes it through. Lots of hunting pressure and small parcels.

Daughter just woke me up, said she saw a deer walk by my blind. I was just down there earlier dropping scent so shocked to have her spot one from the table.

Thanks Trampled and Jimmy. It definitely was exciting. He came in bigger than I expected, but I really want to see another year or 2 on this guy. I think he's a 3 year old. I'll enclose a picture of him here that shows off his elegant rack. I think he has 14 or 15 points, but a few of those wouldn't score. This afternoon was a special hunt for me. My oldest kid, Chris (6) has been begging to tag along. Today he wouldn't be denied. We got into the stand at 2:54 and he was froze out at 3:45, so we went home. It was 28 degrees. He did well. Didn't see a deer, but it was still fun.

Here's the buck... we call him crab claw. Super original.

One thing is for sure if you shoot it there is 0 percent chance he gets any bigger. Good work!

A chilly 22 at Hawggardville this morning. Had to slow down to miss a young buck pulling up to the gate in the dark.
My blind today is an old abandoned farm implement in the woods.

13 degrees with a pretty stiff wind. Had a small buck grunting as he trotted past around 0730. Not sure if there was a doe he was chasing or not.

Hunted last night and seen three does. I think the Real feel was 6° when I was walking out. Should of hunted from the shed and would of seen at least these two. Right side of pic in the grass.

Hunt 9 deer skipped out on a morning hunt after sitting 4 days daylight to dark. High of 34. Hunting beans appears the deer had the same plan buffet and bait all in one. Now for Mr big to show up.

Just had a doe go right under me. She kept looking south and the wind is from the south.

Ive seen 2 more does for 3 total in the first 15 min
