Cuddelink 2020 GEN 2 version

Only thing I see that I would try that you didn't mention was to reformat the SD card.

Reformatted in the camera. See the EDIT to my post for the fix I found. Can't explain it.

,are sure your computer isnt renaming the file , if you have an old firmware file on your computer sometimes the computer will rename it adding a # to the end, if this happens it wont load. if this doesnt work call into cuddeback and leave your name and number and someone should call you back.

Nope. Not renamed. Even edited the name manually to make sure, didn't fix it.

Only directly downloading the .zip file onto the SD card worked. Saving to desktop and dragging it on didn't work. No old firmware on this laptop. Very strange.

I read about the Cuddelink surveillance mode with the exception as saying it has a FAP mode what else does it do? Just thinking for my cabin and garage.

Having a rough stretch with my cameras, just got one replaced that wouldn't talk on network, another one that is now running away like its in time lapse but its not and another one I checked this camera out last weekend and it was locked up. Wasn't showing up on network and would not do anything. I figured batteries were bad (second time this happened) so I replaced them and made sure all settings were correct including the battery setting. It ran for 3 days and is offline again. This is using the DPB and nothing in the camera. I believe there is an issue with this camera. Pretty sure this camera was a replacement from Cuddeback for a different one that failed.

When you say "locked up"..do you mean it said "Locked" on the screen?

No, it said camera was armed but it would do absolutely nothing. Only way to get it do anything was to take the batteries out and put them back in.

Ok, thanks. Mine actually said "Locked" on the screen. Emailed Cuddeback but never heard back...although a bit of time after sending the email the "Locked" went away.

I have no idea what was causing the issue. It was powered by a dual power bank with akaline's only. Thought that might be it when I ran the camera for a week at the house on rechargeable's with no issues so I hooked up another camera to it and have had no issues with either camera for almost 2 weeks now. Very weird.

John,

I have 11 cameras throughout my property that are either on the old cell panels or the new dual battery packs. I updated all cameras to 8.0. I noticed about 2 days ago that the cam was reporting EXT 1 low. I was expecting for it to go to EXT 2. but this AM it said EXT 1 dead. I didn't get any pics from that camera but during this time its a low pic camera by an Oak tree. Any thoughts? I did just go into camp and had it take a picture. I'll know in 6 hours if it worked. I use the Ray O Vac batteries. It is Camera 4 I am talking about.

It was what was emailed to me that's how it formats when I cut and paste it.

How do I post my Cuddelink report here so it's readable like it's emailed to me. cut and paste doesn't do it.

let me know if it still shows ext 1 dead tomorrow, the report is built the last time the camera connects with the home so it should switch to ext 2 on the next report if you have batteries in bank 2.

OK the report this AM still shows Ext 1 dead!, after 33 battery days and 86 pictures. I know there are batteries in both banks but not the camera (J cam with 8.0). I noticed my feeder cam changed over to EXT 2 after 31 days and 205 pictures. This is the DPB that we talked about that had the battery placement sticker on backwards. Do you think by putting in the batteries backwards in the bank it did something to the DBP? I think it was Bank 2 that had the sticker wrong.

6 rayovac D's should get you well past 100 days. i would say there is something awry with that DPB, i would set up a return on that unit.

OK I'm going out to the Farm (860 miles away) Saturday for two weeks. I will check what the battery levels are in Bank 2. If they are good there is probably something wrong with it.

I've always loaded directly onto the SD card for all firmware updates. Did it the first time by accident but it's worked everytime.

Going back out to my place this weekend since I took down my cameras at the end of January. Uploaded the 8.0 firmware and looking forward to those features.

The 8.0 was a nice win for Cuddeback in my opinion. Really upped their game. Of course now I want more features available remotely. LOL.

I agree. Would like the ability to reset the battery days remotely. Would also love if they could determine what power source is in the camera and on the external device. 20 cameras G's and J's, all the different power supplies for the J's and all the external power extras except the new 3600 solar panel make keeping track of what i need to bring to a specific camera difficult..
