Tonight's hunt for me ended with two yearling 8pts, a nubbin and a doe and fawn being pestered by the bucks.

Not live from the stand, but live from my kitchen window...Lots of activity going on in my plots. New bucks and some decent ones are on a mission. Wish I had another tag, but I'm still enjoying observing. Got a video of a new 9 point. Never saw him before. Proof that this is the time to stay on stand. I think I can make some good screen shots of him...I'll try to post tomorrow.

This buck just showed up yesterday. Never saw him before. He was around for several hours pestering does. He looks like possibly a 4 year old to me, maybe older. Not a tremendous rack, but he isn't bad for around here. It's nice to see him.
One observation I'm making...at this point of the rut, tarsal staining is not what I'd expect. Even my older bucks aren't showing much staining below the gland itself.

Saw 17 deer this morning - including our big mature 8. Son was 5 seconds away from getting a shot before he went into cover. A few seconds later I could have shot him, but son wasn't in position to see him. Deer went into a thicket and we started hearing racks crashing. Had to come out a few minutes ago for church, but pumped for this evening. No chasing or anything like that going on - that all happened 10 days ago. All deer eating our plots like no tomorrow......

Last hunt before gun season starts next weekend. Been kinda slow here super windy keeping deer from moving around alot. So thought I'd sneak into there bedroom and wait. See what happens. Good luck to everyone tonight.
