Live from the stand thread

I’m in the 4x4 tower and my son and granddaughter are in a ground blind. It’s warmed up considerably. Lots of movement on camera, which I hope will translate into some sightings and a harvest for my granddaughter. She’s after this deer.

Update: Saw four running across the field. Nice to see some in person and not just on camera.

Been a rough year, mom passed away the second day of season. Made it home this afternoon, just in time. Pretty happy with this old warrior even if hes busted all to shit.20241129_165833.jpg

My condolences on the passing of your mom. My thoughts go out to all who knew and loved her.

Glad you were able to get out for a hunt and lay down an absolute tank. My gosh, can you imagine the fights he was in?

Congratulations on the deer! losing your mother is a hard one. Sorry to hear it.

Just before end of light I was able to capture a bobcat on video for about three minutes (screenshot only below). Between seeing four deer and the bobcat, it was a great evening to be outdoors. My son and granddaughter heard a deer grunting behind their blind, but didn’t see any deer.

Back at it. My son and granddaughter are on the south property with a good east wind, I’m in the north side. Snow is slowly falling. Mornings like this make me glad to have a heater.

Nice one!
Congratulations.
I’m sorry about your loss.

A yearling shot with the camera. My granddaughter on the other side of the property thinks she chose the wrong blind, as she is after her first buck. Glad this one got a pass.

Hunting in a falling snow is so cool for us southern guys. I’ve only gotten to do it once or twice in 25 years of sitting in a stand. After the novelty of it falling I’m ready for it to be gone!

Sorry to hear of the loss of your Mom. My condolences to you & family. Glad you got a nice one, though.

After a hearty late breakfast of sausage and pancakes, I’m in for a midday sit . .saw a 2.5 year old about a minute after getting settled in. The snow has quit and it’s hovering in the mid 20s.

Dawn breaking on the 2nd day of PA rifle season.
Much better day weather wise than yesterday, although still in the upper teens to low 20s the wind is down to 10-15 instead of the gusty 15-30 yesterday.
Saw 20 yesterday with 1 nice shooter for this area and passed a few doe. Hopefully the incoming lake effect system will have them moving today.IMG_20241201_070958451_HDR~2.jpg

Sorry for your loss.

Doh!
Cut hair on a nice old 8. It was a now or never shot as he was easing off with a doe. Had 3 bucks and a doe at 25 yards in a stupid skinny wide open tree in a climber trying to shoot behind me. He was no worse for the wear. Ran off two bucks and continued to push the doe after the shot.
