Got two more. I'm wiped out. After dragging the first one down the mountain and then gutting and skinning all three I'm taking a break for a while. Today was opening day, and the season goes to Dec. 23, so I have 4 months to hunt. Thanks for sharing my day. This was one of my best ever days hunting deer.

Congratulations! One heck of a start to a long season.

You know what they say about guys with long arms..?

Long shirts.

Did you see any deer?

Had a small front move through.
First time in a new spot.
Thought I got in clean.
Had my scent carrying over a slough.

And not a dang thing showed its face.

Except for the 15 million mosquitoes.
And a red squirrel that sat about 8ft above my head and barked at me for 20 min straight.
Was about to loose an arrow at him.
Wondering if he had anything to do with it.

Trying to figure out my ambush location for the morning. Hopefully the sun comes out and gets these goats on their feet.

Ambush? Yikes. How slender are you? Hide behind a steel stake? Pretty pic

I see the need for a well placed fence opening. Just a thought but the big fat guys would rather walk 100 yards than jump.

How big is the fine in Wisconsin when you don't have a tag?

In MO it’s about $20 more than a permit. :emoji_cry: For deer anyway.

Back at it. Missed the full moon, but maybe something will show itself before it gets dark.

Are you going after a giant red stag?

Not on this property. I was after a hind tonight. Had two deer on my scope, but it was too dark to be sure, so i let them walk.

Going after a giant red stag in another terrain this weekend.

Beautiful weather this weekend. Spending as much of it as possible in the hunting terrain.
