350 Legend

I have a .350 legend that has shot at three deer and killed them all. Furthest ran about 100 yards. Had one quartering away shot that exited opposite front shoulder. Whimchester Whitetail 180 grain. I also have a .450 bushmaster but recoil is a little tough for young ones. Best straight wall I have shot is .400 legend with .215 gr. It can be a true .200 yard gun. Might be a little much recoil for a first gun. My 14 yr old grand daughter shoots it no problem - but she shoots quite a bit
The Bear Creek guys are finally selling a 400 cartridge and they say it's a 400 yard and they are planning on 1 further. Not what I need to hear at all, just saying. I did just order their 160 grain 2500 fps round for a kid, and another box of their 160 grain 350 even though it seems theyre pushing the 140 hv round. They claim their bullets are making better energy and blood trails than lead rounds.

the two deer we have killed with the .400’s fell in their tracks.

likewise.

I killed on last monday with a high shoulder shot. 400 legend, 160 grain copper Bear Creeks. When I got to her, her legs were still curled up underneath her. She never even flinched.

My 11 year old shot one an hour later at 120 yards with the 400 legend (Ruger American Ranch w/ a can). Dropped her where she stood too. He also shot his 8 point with the same gun. He can be pretty recoil sensative, but he didn't have a problem with the gun.

I've changed my entire tune on the 350 since copper bullets. My 8 year old double lunged one and we watched him die on his death run, and I neck shot a doe at 85 yards saturday night. Laid her down where she stood.

The 400 has significantly superior ballistics to the 350, no question, but the 350 is no slouch.

Always wanted a good 40 cal deer rifle. Scooped up a CVA Scout 450 bushmaster this summer though. Added 2 pounds of lead to the stock and it kicks like a baby with 395gr sub-x and 19 grains h4227.

Those legends ever make it to lever gun platforms? How the recoil compared to other guns?

I think the 450 kicks similar to a 20 ga. The 400 is 20 some percent less than that.

.350 Legend recoil is so light I don't notice it.

I love shooting that gun. I’ll use it in Minnesota if rifle passes in my county ? Which is still up in the air ?
