    A cure for CWD?

My point is you’ve come on here implying that the TWRA biologists and officers, many that I know well and respect, are falsifying CWD test results or intentionally introducing it to the herd as part of some grand interstate conspiracy to defraud sportsmen across the country of license dollars...

    A cure for CWD?

Don’t go talking about things you don’t know. Those counties are very rural/agricultural. And unlike some state agencies, TN Wildlife Resources Agency gets nothing from the general fund, so there’s no imaginary money about to fall out of the clouds. What do they have to gain from this? Heck if...

Basal Spraying Locust Trees...kill 'em all

Hack and squirt is good until the sap starts flowing. In TN, I quit by mid February but start again once leaves are fully expanded. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Hack and squirt in winter?

I’m not spud but there isn’t really a tree too big, but as tree size increases, hack and squirt becomes cheaper and faster. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    More of a REALLY post.

I have dove hunted with a pump, semi, O/U, and SxS. The pump is the slowest to a second shot by far but I may well shoot it better than the rest since it’s the gun I learned to shoot on. I can get a 3rd off almost as fast with a double gun as I can the pump. I don’t know that I’ve lost any...

    Chinkapin and Dwarf Chinkapin Planted!!

I see pretty heavy use under chinkapin oak around here. It’s the only white oak that grows in some areas. I don’t have any experience with DCO but would like to experiment with it and other shrub oaks. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Seed a Legacy Program - Opportunity for free pollinator seed

Sure they would. Spend a year killing the grass and weeds. You don’t have many herbicide options to use over the top of them so you’ve got to start clean. I like to use 15 spp minimum but can’t say which ones you need as I don’t know the site. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I got an article in my email about it. I can’t remember who it was from but I’ll dig and see if I can find it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Seed a Legacy Program - Opportunity for free pollinator seed

Something I recommend on pollinator habitat- throw a bag of bird seed sunflowers in the grain box if you are drilling. Instant, pretty color. Deer love to chow on the wildflowers too. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Seed a Legacy Program - Opportunity for free pollinator seed

No longer the case. CRP was gutted in this farm bill. CP42 is no longer an option but you could plant a similar mix as a CP2. 50% max cost share, no SIPs, no PIPs, and soil rental rates are capped at 85% of the county average by soil type for new contracts and reduced another 15% for re...

Your carrier will affect it as much as anything. Diesel can be pretty hard on the ground if it runs off. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Hack and squirt in winter?

No, Japanese honeysuckle is an evergreen vine. Bush honeysuckle is a deciduous shrub. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Black Cherry

They won’t do much to knock the wind off in the winter. Have you looked at shrub oaks or chinkapin? You get mast and they tend to hold their leaves. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    CWD

American chestnut is a worst case scenario. The species is functionally extinct. I’m not aware of any naturally reproducing stands of chestnut, but I commonly find scattered individuals sprouting from ancient roots that will get killed back by the fungus about the time they are big enough to...
