I could see 87 but 87.3% seems a bit high to me. jmoI'm 87.3% sure that's the exact phrase Neville Chamberlain used about hitler.

I don’t believe Russia and China will be filling the void on what USAID has become and why they were spending money on. It became a rogue with no oversight. Promoting woke, trans and LGBQ ideas all over the World. I would educate yourself a bit more on this Organization and what it has becomeWhen you pull back from the world stage the bad actors will fill the voids. That means China and Russia.
I don’t know a lot about USAID and I know even mentioning it will draw daggers. What I do know is that the highest estimate of how much of federal spending it amounts to that I can find is 1.2%. I have heard as low as .4%. I know that there is mismanagement and I believe it when the Trump administration says some of the aid went into bad actors pockets. Maybe a redo is in order! I certainly hope so because China’s Belton Road initiative is sneaky, underhanded and it works. THAT needs to be guarded against. USAID is our tool to fight that and help influence the events on the world stage. Soft power. The carrot you wield with the big stick.
We, the United States, use food and medicine aid to our advantage. Yes it’s manipulative and it’s distasteful to say that. It doesn’t always work. Maybe the Trump administration can make it better. I hope so. I really do. Easing misery while advancing our interests is money well spent and I bet an economist could tell you why it is a good investment. Plus, we are America for God’s sake. We are easy to criticize but we do more good in the world than any nation, bar none. Warts and all.
I'm a bit overly confident at times. We can blame it on american arrogance.I could see 87 but 87.3% seems a bit high to me. jmo

Somehow 36 trillion in debt makes us the richest country in the world. I need that explained in a way that might possibly make sense. I know a lot of people aren't great at math but that one almost seems kind of obvious. Used to be told that we were borrowing the money from China when I was a kid. Even in elementary school I wondered why China would keep borrowing us money if we never pay it back.
You feel the same about dudes in the ladies room? You cool pointing out which restroom your daughters and wife are in so that rowdy guys from HT like @Howboutthemdawgs can follow them in?Just like any government agency that size, it’s neither all good nor all bad. LIKE I SAID in the post above, maybe the administration can reshape it in a better form. I’m for that. Can’t just wad it up and throw it in the trash.
I hope you all get the trans/woke whatever solved. I’ll be glad to quit hearing about it every minute of every day. Especially since it’s never affected me, my wife or my two daughters who played travel, high school and college sports. Not one time.
I’m sorry but that stuff is exhausting and I don’t know that it’s worth the energy that people are putting into it.
I don’t know anything about his age or availability but kinda get the feeling he might make a good son in law tbh!You feel the same about dudes in the ladies room? I do not have a clue....what the total value of all the things that would be considered "equity" in the USA. But when you add up all the infrastructure, roads, water, sewer, bridges, various monumental buildings across the USA, power plants, housing, power, pipelines and electric grid, stadium, parks, timberlands, farm lands, natural resources, and so many more things........If that ain't worth 36 trillion......I'd be very surprised. So......on a debt to equity ratio....we may have come out on top. And....if our financial system does implode.....money may not have any value.....but...we still got "the stuff".Somehow 36 trillion in debt makes us the richest country in the world. Did a quick google on the amount of land in the USA. If we just factor land at 2.4 billion acres.....and not count "improvements"......what would be the cost per acre if we "owe" 36 trillion ....on those 2.4 billion acres? My calculator does not compute such things.

That's an interesting concept, but it probably doesn't hold enough weight in politics to be relevant.
The fact is, after Breton Woods, all the anti-communist monkeys became our zoo. We had unprecedented growth during that period. Eventually, the reason for Breton-Woods evaporated, and Americans quit caring about it. That has lead to a global paradigm shift. The global paradigm shift has lead to a global political shift. We are in the middle of that. When it all shakes out, the world will be a lot easier to understand. But for now, it's very confusing. And rest assured, it is definitely our monkeys that made the world a zoo.
