USA to "take over" the Gaza Strip

Nothing good happens in that region, keep our money and troops home like you campaigned on.

All this talk about out expanding our interests into other countries seems mostly like flexing muscles to achieve a better resolution, I hope it all stays that way. This is the worst idea of the 4 that he's floated out there, IMO.

Yeah, two religious groups who have been at war with each other for thousands of years..
That's just the excuse at this point, it's well being that. It's become some people's reason for being. Which is pretty common with hatred and war. Take those away and they have nothing. "War is hell". War is also wonderful for some, because it removes worrying about anything else.

Who in the name of God's green earth wants to go down the same old path's we have been on for all these decades? Only to blow it up again? Stuooooopid. Something has to change. And, I do beleive Trump is onto something here. Not sure it should solely be the USA.....but some countries need to show up here and make this happen. The Gaza Strip is mostly rubble now (from all the pics I have seen). The location and climate is ideal to do what Trump has said.

I just do not know how the USA can take-on this role at this point in time.....when we gotta MAGA. First thing to do is set up a decent government. That would be a start. Not sure how many investors would invest.....so much depends on the government established now.

Don't seem to me...that doing the same old / same old....is gonna work. BT/DT.
Like everything else I think it's just about money and that's the driving force on why the government does anything. Government doesn't care about people. jmo

If he's serious, then this is a terrible idea. But I don't think he's serious.

Two alternate explanations come to mind:
1) Trumpster routinely creates drama and outrage as a distraction. He pushes his opponents to oppose him on fake issues so they don't have the bandwidth to oppose him on what he's actually getting done, which can be on a completely unrelated topic.
2) gaza has been mostly a stalemate for a very long time. Neither side sees a reason to take meaningful steps to change the situation. Its occasional back & forth fighting with no path to change. It is Trumpster's style to start with something absurd so the compromise that comes up later seems more reasonable. So maybe he's just trying to scare them into having serious conversations about real change.

^ Plausible.

To elaborate on idea 2 (`So maybe he's just trying to scare them into having serious conversations about real change.`), maybe he just wants the arab world to yell at him about how outrageous that is. Then he'll reply with: well, if you don't want me fixing it, you better send your people in there and deal with.

Gaza the 51st state I like it expel the current undesirables and lets MAGA the hell out of that patch of beach. If he did something like that I might even buy a patch of ground over there. If they going to turn the Palestinians back loose than no way not interested in repeating the same failed crap that caused this to begin with pretty clear at this point the Palestinians can’t govern anything they just Iranian puppets.

Relax fellas. Read the Art of the Deal and this will make more sense.

I'm hoping you are right. I want to get out of that mess, not deeper in it.

My line in the sand is one single American troop on the ground. 0. Art of the deal be damned... 😂

There won't be. Didn't the recent tariff threats teach you anything?

I'm hoping it's like a told my wife this morning. You approach the zoning board with a proposal for a 75 house high density development for your 5 acres on the edge of town. Then when they agree to let you build the one house you wanted to in the first place they got to win.....

The tariff threats at least started out "America First." Any effort spent on this shithole is contrary to that.

I am not a fan, I am not sure how buying a dump and turning it into anything in a war zone will be saving the tax payers any money. I can invision the dream, but not our monkeys, not our zoo. Let Israel fix up what they blew up, like what we usually end up doing. Blow it up, fix it up better then ever.

You are missing the point. It's called leverage. Iran is already crapping their pants.

If only you could take him at his word...

I guess the ends justify the means.

Can’t even describe how happy I am. All of the corruption coming out by the day. Going to be a fun ride. Literally a Revolution without the war.

He didn't even write it. He paid a ghostwriter.

Very few if any write their own book. But it does explain his methodology.
