The Land of Milk and Honey

Milo is headed out nice! A week ago the beans were full of blossoms and I think the start of little pods. We really need a rain right now to make these plots perfect headed into fall, but they are still doing great!

Man, that is an awesome set up!

Also spotted a couple does by the corn. Drone was at 400’, but it was calm and they got goosey. Glad to know they are afraid.

I definitely spanked your corn. I don't have a drone or I'd prove it 🤣

I keep those pigweed heads for the burn barrel. Everything is looking great!

Took the drone down this calm morning for an update. I’m gonna walk those Milo rows and clip those giant pigweeds by hand. They are making seed and are giant! Maybe too late, but not all the seed is viable yet. Red hue kinda showing on the Milo heads. The red grass in the upper left is some Old World Bluestem I hand sprayed. I need to get in front of it. Things are looking good. Oh, and you can see the brassicas coming on in the far upper left of the photo in my original food plot. Nice!

Pics or it didn’t happen!!!

The coon and deer damage is much worse since the last time I flew over it. Good thing is the worst areas are going to be some of the first to get knocked down and overseeded for my master plan…

I'll get my wife to lift me up in the bucket of the 3020. Best I can do ya for 😆

5 gallon buckets and scissors (with a bone notch in them). Pull the weed, cut the heads off and throw into bucket. Leave the rest of the plant there.

Plucked a soybean plant today. Quite a few pods. They aren’t very full yet, but we are 50-60 days or so from average frost.

Beautiful, healthy looking plant. What's the browse pressure like so far?

Did you innoculate the seeds? I don't see any N nodules? I pulled one the other day on my place that had between 20-25 nodules but not as many pods as yours.
What variety is this? Standard GMO beans?

I thought about actually digging one up to see if maybe I yanked it too hard and the nodules stayed in place.

I don't think that would be the case except in some extreme dry/compacted circumstances. The one I yanked out the other day was full of nodules and I didn't baby it coming out of the ground.

Awesome!
