Not sure about the freeze issue in your area. I'd give a few a try before jumping in big. Yes they resprout every year for about 20 years per the biofuel growers.

Chummer - I have had half a dozen plants in zone 4 for ~5 years.

They have lived through some EXTREMELY cold winters.

I don't think they grow as quickly and full as those planted further south, but they sure do survive.

For an update and motivation to try some, here is my 3rd year row of MxG. I wasn't sure how it would handle a drought summer but they have done pretty well. Some look better than others and they aren't as tall as they were last year (yet hopefully). This is a double row.

Received about 3 or 4 dozen cuttings from scott44. Thank you! I have them in a big vase covered in water. They float up about 2 inches out of the water which I think is good...right? They're already sprouting too. This is so cool.

A little floating is fine. You may want a few more jars with fewer cuttings in them. In about two weeks they may become a root tangle if packed so tightly.

Excellent. I'll get a few more vases/jars going & spread them out. I should have time this week to spray & till a strip where I want these to go once they are sprouted & ready for planting.

I don't see why not, it's easier for me to keep them in root makers then transplant them, just keep them moist.
