I know these don't work for zone 4 and under but what if my ground doesn't freeze. Do they regrow from the ground every year? With the snow pack they would have a good level of insulation.

A little floating is fine. You may want a few more jars with fewer cuttings in them. In about two weeks they may become a root tangle if packed so tightly.
Weasel, in 1-2 weeks they should look like this. These have been in water since a week ago Monday. In a week or so these are going into rootmakers.
I don't see why not, it's easier for me to keep them in root makers then transplant them, just keep them moist.Can these be directly planted at that time? Mine are going close to home so they can be babied.
