I suppose I should too. I know people who've hunted more than 40 years and never shot a deer.Damn, I saw this tally yesterday on WI gun opener. Was bummed nothing mature came to visit, I should feel blessed.
Like most things in life, it comes down to perspective.I suppose I should too. I know people who've hunted more than 40 years and never shot a deer.

You aren't the only one hunting tough ground. This is day 4 of our rifle season and none of us have seen a deer yet. Buck "sightings" are not an every year thing around here, let alone harvesting a buck, any buck.Behind that brush is a gas station and a 7-11. Behind me, even worse.
I see more deer in one day here than I will in a decade of hunting where I do.
Where is here? What is reasoning? You aren't the only one hunting tough ground. This is day 4 of our rifle season and none of us have seen a deer yet. Buck "sightings" are not an every year thing around here, let alone harvesting a buck, any buck.
Central Wisconsin. We can blame the wolves, the DNR, the neighbors, etc. But regardless of all that it's just not that good of ground. Mostly forest with little agriculture, infertile sandy soil, flat as a board. Racks are poor. Food, cover, and bedding all bundled together. Endless network of trail options for them with short sight lines for the hunter. Deer hunting is just one activity we use the property and the area for so I don't really stress over it. Fun (and sad) part is, we celebrate every harvest as if it's a trophy.Where is here? What is reasoning?

I don’t think I’d necessarily hunt anymore if that was the case, definitely not bow hunt. That's a good description of my hunting area.
That plus hundreds and hundreds of acres that were clear cut about 10+ years ago. You could bed/hide ten thousand deer in that impenetrable mess and never be able to get near them. But honestly, even before that it wasn't much better, but at least there was more land you could actually hunt and feel like you had a chance.
