I’m sitting on public between two bedding areas, maybe set up too close to one. We had rain overnight and this morning and it’s a breezy north wind, so setup was easier than normal. I’d like to think there’s a good chance I see something

I will get a longbow and start shooting wooden arrows before I buy into this.

View from the box blind tonight. Ended up seeing 6 deer. One of the nicer bucks at about 100 yards. Not sure I would stick an arrow in him but nice to see a better buck.

I don’t know how you guys hunt from blinds! First time in 27years. Bored as all get out!

I agree its hard to get excited about hunting out of a ground blind. I like some height to get a better view.

Sorry I think you are talking specifically ground blinds. I was talking any of those hard sides banks/redneck style blinds. But I suppose same difference, one is just elevated.

Couldn’t get any closer. Had this guy under me and he walked dead away. I was drawn and ready but wasn’t in the cards. I haven’t seen him on camera or in my fields in well over a month so great to see. Definitely an odd feeling, would have loved to have shot him but didn’t want to shoot him…it was first sit of the year and being a one buck state i didn’t want to be done after 2 hours. I love the chase, I guess more than I love to kill something.

I agree. The hunting is often better than the shooting anymore. Its kind of odd, I can pass a buck a number of times and then its like a switch gets flipped and I say I am going to put an arrow through him right now. That is the value of a 2 buck state. In Nebraska I would often fill the 1st tag on whatever buck that flipped that switch, and then the 2nd tag was for the giant that is hiding out there somewhere. I often had that second tag still setting in my backpack at the end of the season.

Actually Montana one buck rule is premier. I see the damage done in michigan with the crazy 2 buck tag garbage.

I'd try to shoot him on your next sit. Then spend the fall putting a couple does on the meat pole, spending time with family (to buy points for next fall), and working on your land. By the time that's all done, hopefully the taxidermist tells you to come pick him up.

According to my cameras there’s 1 buck on my his side of the farm. Hopefully I can prove cameras don’t tell the whole story

@Howboutthemdawgs You shoot what makes you excited. I admire your restraint. That said, my season would have be over. What happened to the no good bucks, everything's been killed picture you paint 😂 Just kidding with you. I hope your attitude and dedication gets you a 200. Just shoot it when it comes by, please😁
