That seems very "cheap" compared to hunting in Alaska, Canada, or many western states. I was invited on a moose hunt in Norway once....but was too busy to attend it then. It was thru Norma ammo and my sales rep in Europe. Kinda kicked myself on that deal.

I was told you have to pass a shooting test in Norway....and as you say be a part of a hunt club effort. Also was told that in Germany you cannot get a hunting license unless you have a place to hunt first.....or in other words belong to a hunt club. I think Germany hunting costs a pretty penny. Maybe that was the price to join a hunt club? Cannot remember.

Mymemory upon seeing the Black Forest in Germany was.....that it was so manicured and in picture book organization. No fallen timber or as much as a pile of sticks on the ground. Manicured by the foresters that operate the property. Strange.

In Norway you do have to pass a shooting test every year. You don't have to be a part of a hunting club, but generally it's good to join the ones that have good properties to hunt. You can buy all kinds of hunting and fishing permits online or from a local seller.
In Germany, hunting is generally for the rich. The country is densely populated, and they have a history of aristocrats controlling the land. They also do driven hunts. Which gets boring rather quickly. I would hunt in Germany if I was invited, but I would never pay to hunt there.

Moose hunting in Norway can be amazing, or it can be boring, but it's pretty cheap compared to North America. I'm across the border in Sweden, and I saw about 20 moose on the way to the supermarket this evening, out eating grass in farm fields. I would only pay the meat price to hunt those animals. Our group is hunting wilderness, which is usually awesome, but a bunch of the neighbor's reindeer got into the terrain and kinda messed things up a bit.

Didn’t see much fur on my first sit of the year, but was treated to a beautiful sky on my hike in & perfect autumn weather here in PA.

My wife is out sitting with her bow now. I’m hoping she connects with one this weekend, I think she has a good chance. 🤞
