Been hunting since he was 8. Past on basket 8's and 10's his last three youth seasons.
School schedule gave him 3 afternoons and 2 mornings with a bow last year and we had tag soup.
He chose to skip bow and the first weekend of gun so he could get more time in the stand on his turkey break from school. His third hunt on the 8th day of gun season and we got it done.
I don't need a deer, this was the dream.

We haven't been hitting it very hard so far.. 2 evenings no mornings.
The good news is the deer on my place have no idea it's gun season. Well the girls don't anyway. We saw ~20 does and fawns tonight, one little buck.
Headed out in the morning, I hope we don't see anything much. Jake needs to eat a little tag soup.

Not "live" from the stand, but for anyone wondering how I did this weekend and why the hunters in my area have a hard time seeing deer, I give you the following photographic evidence of the "coyote" problem in Central WI...................
And yes, that is a 165 gr, .30-06 cartridge in that pic for comparison. Me thinks it is a wee bit larger than the average "yote" track. No way is a fawn getting away from the monster that made that print..........:(
