Live from the stand thread

Hey Bill, can you send that buck clanking his antler to my email?

Unfortunately I didn't get it on film. I was taking short clips with my phone to post with tapatalk.

I'm uploading quality vid of him to YouTube. Going to post on your "successful hunts my way" thread cause as far as I'm concerned I could have tagged a roughly 130's gross buck this morning just didn't want to. that's a success to me :D

This isn't exactly "live", but the pic was taken 3 seconds before I shot him. Too bad I didn't have the camera set on video or 3 picture burst. I probably would have recorded the hit.
He's certainly not my biggest buck but I'm sure he's 3 years old which ain't bad for these parts. 5x3.
Double lung, 18 yard shot with a recurve. He went less than 70 yards:)HUNT0088.jpg

Some kind of muck boot treated with high doses of ozone. I actually finished dressing at the base of the stand. No scent shower, dry with ozone treated towel. Walk to ozone room in said towel. Get dressed in treated clothes.

At the end of the day all that probably did nothing but make me feel better. If the same thing happens tomorrow the deer could go bat $hit crazy over my smell.

But I'm doing that routine anyway.

Congratulations!!!!

I'm wearing Muck boots and I ozone the insides and out after every hunt. Plus all the other odor control stuff that I do which some of you guys laugh at.
I've had a lot of deer cross my access trail this year. Some have even been bedding very close to my trail and cross it several times when they get up and mill around. Not a single deer has acted like they smelled where I walked this season.
I used to forgo hunting certain stands because of all the trails I would have to cross. But whatever that I'm doing must be working because I'm not getting busted...at all.

Thanks Bill. No ground shrinkage. I knew the rack wasn't huge when I shot, but I felt the age and body were acceptable...I was happy when I got a close look at him.

And that's what counts on your land. What "you" think.

See if anyone is looking to have a go at it tonight. Decoys are a pain in the keyster. Saw 2 mature bucks out with does midday in wide open corn fields really hoping they aren't locking down already. Have yet to see any chasing.

I'm out. Just saw a fork. Not chasing but eating in my plot. I think the local nubbin was with him.

I guess I should have hunted yesterday He was right out front on my mock scrape. Instead I spent the day with my son who was home from college, working on his car . Deer can wait, kids can't!!WGI_0003V1.jpg

Your suppose to say you just flew in from Cali when you list your other stuff aren't you?...........LOL Congrats!

Ha ha,

I was on the way to this stand when this pic was taken. I was 15 minutes late.
Tap would have been there. But I was in a different stand in the AM.

This is why it's hunting.

Congrats nice buck!!

Good luck to all those heading out today, I've only made it out once in the last week but I have the next week off so lots of stand time I hope.

Watched a doe kick this little guy out and now she's getting run all over this switch field by a small buck.IMG_20161108_075654765.jpg
