Had my second sit of the year Weds day night. On my way to the stand I almost stepped on a yearling doe in the pasture, she popped up didn't really act to spooked barely flagging and loped into the woods. I slipped into the stand as quiet as I could and wasn't in it two minutes and had deer start going underneath me. It was a pretty good show, saw more deer than last week...three basket bucks but nothing that I was looking for. The bucks were constantly licking their noses and pestering the does so rut should be about to kick off. Had some ducks come into the front pond about an hour before dark and immediately start chuckling and high balling, pretty neat with that ringing through the woods. The leaves are just starting to turn good and all kinds of birds and squirrels were moving around, made for a nice evening sit.
