I think that maybe one of our regulars may be "popeyoung9" on the QDMA forum - anybody want to confess?

They simply made a smart comment about one of our favorite people over there that I thought was funny.

:oops::oops:I stand corrected tooln, you guessed it, but I read another post that I thought was very strange in another thread. I was a bit confused. Maybe someone pi$$ed in NoFo's Tequila Sunrise??? Not that I would be sticking up for McDoof, but it was the other post that was a surprise.

I though it was November - the pic of the mahi-mahi sort of gave it away - but I thought I would ask before I made an assumption (you know what they say about those). If you want to see - go see for yourself - AND KEEP IT OVER THERE! I'm not going to stir that up here. I was just curious. I will warn EVERYONE if this thread turns to crap over this I will ask John W to kill it - don't need it, don't want it, aint going to be a part of it! Looking back I should have deleted the second line altogether - please don't make me regret it!

That thread is actually pretty hilarious. A bunch of them talk about harvesting a 5.5 year old or nothing like there is one hiding behind every tree.o_O Either a bunch of them are lying or they eat a lot of tag soup. 5.5's aren't all that common anywhere that a whole website full of guys can be waiting around to shoot one.:rolleyes:

I think some places it is possible to have a 5.5 or so on your property consistently. The number of hunters has a lot to do with it. If my area had half the hunters, it would be possible. From what I've seen in the states I've hunted, that's the common denominator for older bucks.

I say this every once in awhile, hunt for yourself and yourself only so shoot whatever makes you happy and only worry about that. Unless you one of the very few being paid to hunt or have a huge farm then I always wonder what the motivation is to have such a strict rule 5.5 or older rule, is it just for the challenge or does it have more to do with the antler porn insanity and inflating your ego. I also tend to believe some use that rule as an excuse for their lack of woodsmanship or because they hunt ground that cannot consistently produce one but they do not want to feel lesser in the eyes who have awesome ground or someone on tv when they do not not fill a tag, again ego driven.

It's easy to say, "Well you shot deer I passed on..." again to validate to themselves having equal or greater skill than you.
