The lower the temperature gets the less the coons move, especially if there is snow on the ground. Not uncommon for coons to hole up in a tree or in the ground for several days if temps are in the lower 20s or lower. They are basically in semi-hibernation, thus the reason a healthy coon has alot of fat!I can't catch a raccoon to save my life. I managed to catch 2 possums and a cat, but the raccoons must be happy out in the forest eating berries or whatever they find there. Hopefully this snow will start making them a bit desperate for food.
If only I could use a bow, It's reasonable to think something big might show up yet.
