My wife is in HR for a large regional medical facility. Trust me when I say this will be overly abused. Being they are allowing you to back date if you had a kid in 2025, both parents are allowed to take off. My wife said it is non stop calls planning for time off, and you can’t say no. They are figuring with the allowed paid time off from 25’ for having kids, and the up to 20 weeks paid time off for having a baby in 26’, they will have about 3000 people taking off the first 6 months of the year. They now have to try to figure how to staff for this as well. My wife said you have people calling for mental health time off already. I guess we all need 16 weeks of mental health time off somewhere warm in the winter.
You ever go to a large hospital? It seems a third of the nurses are pregnant at the same time.
I know the talk now is about daycare in MN, but I have seen some of the daycare agreements the daycares are trying to push out there. Small daycare, 9 kids, they want 3 weeks off paid, 10 days sick pay, paid holidays, now add this bs to the mix?
