Rain

A lot of rain in the forecast, currently in a flood watch .

We have had one week without rain sine snow melt. Seems like it has rained about every 2-3 days all spring in south east Minnesota. Not sure how wide spread that pattern is but our aquifer is getting some much needed recharging after the past three drought years.

Got back from the fishing trip to find the rain gauge overflowing which means we got more than 6.5" in the last week. Flood warnings everywhere in Southern MN.

Southern MN, northern Iowa and eastern SD are all disasters. My county has lost 5-10% of planted crops. At least we don't have the infrastructure damage like they do south and SW of here. My county has had more rain in the last 7 days than we had for the entire growing season last year. We went from burning the crop up to catastrophic flooding. I will take the drought 10 out of 10 times over this mess.

We are hot and dry. Not sure since I have been out of town the last 4 weeks, but do not think we have had a drop of rain since I left. We could use a few inches., but not 13-15.

Fairly normal in the southern Great Basin. The monsoons appear to be starting with the storm that hit the Texas coast. They are predicting a move from el nino to neutral to la nina, which should be expected, but it seems like they have been saying this for two years now, even when the weather pattern says el nino in bright red letter.

Nice mess of fish! Curious where this was at. Feel free to PM. Any hot baits? Thanks!
Eagle River chain. Was using artificial minnow for the walleye and tube jig and slip bobbers on the crappie.

Hoping to get my tractor in the field for the first time this year in the next week.. should be getting close to dry enough. Feel awful for the folks in SW MN and N. IA.

This has been the wettest spring into mid-summer I have ever seen here. Last 2.5 weeks alone we have had over 13" of rain. Ground is so saturated with no place for the water to go until the lake drains and creek level goes down.

Definitely wet!! Friday we had flooding in the city where I work worse than any other time in my 26 year career. 4 miles away where I live we didn’t have much rain at all which is good because the creek behind my house would have flooded our house with the rain we had in the city. The dam up river from my mom breached/washed out. Sheriff Department came to her house and told her to evacuate. She refused and they put up a yellow flag by the road to indicate she refused to evacuate. She then had all the neighbors over who also didn’t leave for margaritas as they watched the river rise. She’s in her 80’s 😂. Her place was fine as she’s up high. It did the same thing in 1969 and she was ok then. It rained twice Friday up north. The second storm put down 2 inches quick. Puddles in places I never seen before. I had all my seed broadcasted prior to the rain and then crimped it down . Let's hope it germinate quickly.

It's dried out a little in Southern MN the past few weeks but we are still getting timely rains. Had a shower show up this evening that gave us about .25"
