You can goblet squat with a dumbbell down to a bench or a chair bending over and using primarily your hips. I did that for a few months until it was too easy and I decided to invest in the home gym. I love my platform, power rack and barbells. I can’t think of a better way to spend 2 grand.

I did a couple of sets last night, 8-10 squats each, holding a 25 pound plate to my chest. It was much easier on my lower back than having a bar up on my shoulders, something I will keep doing.

The low bar position on the rear delt does not hurt anywhere near as much as sitting on top of the traps.
