Rain

Another 2” tonight

My cousin took this at a small lake near our house. Rains had it roaring!

My son works at a restaurant in one of the marinas on a local lake (Lake Grapevine) here in the Dallas area… and the lake is 19.41 feet above normal level. The entire parking lot is underwater, and they erected a floating walkway to get you out to the marina… the walkway has gotten longer and longer over the last 3 months.

The temporary walkway is now over 100 yards long…

I was wrong…. Almost 150 yards, it is amazing what an additional 20 feet of water height will do. Crazy thing is that we will be begging for rain by the end of August.

Looks like it came across the valley right into the orchard plot.20240609_082601_HDR.jpg20240609_082509_HDR.jpg

My farmer has had his equipment sitting for over a week at my place. Can’t get beans in. At this point I hope it takes till July. I want new beans while all my neighbors are maturing IMG_4839.png

Over 4” in the 7 day forecast. I’m never going to get my sorghum planted at this rate!

Script has been flipped. We are dryer than a popcorn fart now

I was beginning to get a little down, but we just had a .42” pop up. I’ll take it!

Here in michigan it's been good. Actually seeing the first signs of grass drying out the middle of June. Basically only 90 days of summer left. Hallelujah.

.75 at the house last night, and we really needed it. We've been missing all the recent rains and even last night about a mile away got 1.75. My farm is 12 miles away and the pasture looks great and the ponds are overflowing. Sure is nice not having to water the new apple and persimmon trees at the farm!
