From his statement, I took it to mean the deer in the creek was the one he harvested 2 years ago.

I wasn't knocking your deer. Not my style at all. I was literally meaning the corn didn't grow to well.

This is a good reason never to buy from a box store. What you are seeing is Milo, which was NOT supposed to be in this Evolved Mega Plot Fall Hunter mix. IMG_7177.jpeg

Next year my $ are going to Al and his team, at Vitalize.

I think I bought some of that at tractor supply. It was full of weevils so I burned it...

Sitting above my house low 40s stiff breeze. Saw a doe right at legal light. Rattled soon after and a big 7 point showed up but wouldn’t come 10 yards closer. Tried a snort wheeze as a last resort and he bolted…at least it tells me there’s some bigger ones around!

The last two days I was sitting on THREE hunting cushions. lol

The problem is the design of the seat. Must be made for little skinny people who can sit with their knees together. I'm not little or skinny. I can sit with my legs together for a few seconds. But not at all while wearing heavy winter clothes and a tree harness. In the seat the metal cross bar presses up hard on my lower thighs. In any other position than knees touching each other, the higher metal bars mid seat press up real hard on my hamstrings. After a while that cold metal pressing back there causes my legs to cramp up. Nothing like jumping out of your seat in pain trying to get the cramp to subside... when you only have a couple inches of platform to stand on. Especially when you're trying to me motionless and quiet. lmao (kills me because there's so much about the stand I love, it's 100% rock solid and quite.)

The plan for gun season is to buy some thick foam "kneeling pads." Two on each side to sort of level things out, then one long one across those two. If that doesn't work, I dunno. Maybe get rid of it, screw down some 3/4" marine plywood and stick a regular chair of there.
Have you tried one of these? It may not solve the problem, but I love mine.

Heavy chasing in the NWSGs this morning. Already had a 10 point and 2 8s to pass by chasing does. Was going on at first light and still happening.

I can’t get over how loud some of these bows are people hunt with. Some of them sound just like a 30-06.

It’s nice to know people in your neighborhood are sighting in their rifles early. In my neighborhood they do it 20 minutes before dark on the eve of the rifle opener.

Mine sight them about this time of the year too using live deer to verify accuracy

That happens around my parents place too but they usually don’t confine their activities to fall and when confronted say they’re just “hunting coyotes”..didn’t know coyotes had 20 quarts of blood and thick brown and white hair…

I've been hearing more shots bow season vs gun season for a few years now. Mostly early and late, must be busy during the midday hours.
