It's gotta be hot there. Upper 80s here today with a bunch of 90s coming. Good luck.
85 degrees. I rode my E-bike back but still sweating. Based on what I’m seeing, I think evenings are the ticket right now. So much food and pre rut give them no reason to be out late in the morning.

PS - I feel my window of opportunity is closing. Something is eventually going to happen that will end this party. Could be a pack of coyotes, a trespasser, a super sweet white oak tree, farmer harvesting, and the list goes on and on. It will change, we just don’t know when. In fact, I could find out this evening it has already ended.

I admire that you are out, and I am enjoying the pictures of your party!

The Missouri opener on Monday is forecast to be in the low to mid 90s, and we are in a severe drought, so it's crispy. We'll be hunting in southwest MO in the morning and northwest MO in the evening. The morning hunt is primarily to say "we were out at first light"-- a tradition. The evening hunt may be fruitful, as our goal is doe harvest at this point and we have a couple does on camera daily.

Any camera sightings the past few days or has it been a while?

He was on camera Saturday evening before dark when I couldn’t be here. As of Tuesday morning he had not been back. I will pull cards again at about 10 AM tomorrow. This is my first trip back since Tuesday morning.

Sitting here on my patio having a cocktail...and enjoying the nice weather. A couple of bald eagles landed in some nearby trees and a calling to one another. So....I decided to call back and did a few "lip squeaks" as used in my old varmint hunting days on foxes and coyote.

Seems the lip squeaks work pretty good on eagles too...as one cam swooping toward me our to the tree (where he was hidden from view). I wasted no time in standing up and waving my arms to ward that SOB away!! I had a huge owl do that too...and had his tallons extended toward me at just a few feet away before I saw him once in the dead of winter in a desolate swamp.......(while calling coyotes in the winter).

My momma didn't raise no foo... It's a jungle out there. grin.

Aint nature amazing and fun?

I can't believe how brown your beans are already. We had such a rainy spring almost every bean field was plant late. They're almost still fully green here.
We had those rains, but they got mine in early. Most other fields are green here too

Only a fawn and a doe came out of the head of the draw. Another doe came out further down the draw from the spring funnel. No sign of any bucks.
