Personally.....I think Darnold may sign for another year or two.....at a lower than market price. Why?.....because he KNOWS this team is the right fit for him.....and he will go back to sucking with a move....just like Kirk is doing right now. If the Vikings cough about 30 M for Darnold.....I'd bet he will go for it. I think JJ McCarthy could sit another year or two.....and / or step in if or when an injury happens. He will have his day......patience.

Thing is JJ has a rookie contract - 4 years, $21,854,796. So $5.5 mil/yr vs $45 mil/year. Can put some pretty good supporting pieces in for $40 mil a year! He looked solid in the little bit of pre-season he played. Hardly a big enough sample size to see.

Only guy to ever take any significant decrease in worth was Brady. Darnold isn't Brady and his wife (to my knowledge) doesn't make $50M/year like Brady's did.

I think so, & he’s a great coach ! Best defensive scheme I’ve seen the Vikings have in many years… except when we go into prevent defense at the end ? That was horrible .

He surely tarnished his status with many last night. Every player has a few bad days sooner or later. I'm a bit undecided if Darnold is 100% prime time QB or not. He has played quite well on most outings.....but he did not do himself any contract favors yesterday. Still....I think he has what it takes to win allot of football games. The Lions definitely have some good players.....and had a game plan to overcome Darnold yesterday. Hopefully the Vikings can get the wheels back on for a rematch. Also, the Vikings management has to make better game directions than they did last night. Very uncharacteristic of their norm. Time will tell. SKOL!
