Trump says his nomination will be a woman. Very similar to what Biden did when he ruled out all qualified men for a running mate. Democratic heads will explode when he doesn't pick a old white guy and they have to argue against what the dems just justified for themselves. Plus, how can they possibly be against advancing a woman in this political landscape? How will they support his female choice while at the same time say she is a horrible choice (solely on the fact that he made the pick)? Lol, they can't have it both ways but I bet they try.

Actually they'll oppose the pick on two grounds; 1) The hypocrisy of filling the seat when they blocked Obama's choice in an election year; and 2) The choices are likely to be strongly anti-abortion. I get that most of you may prefer an anti-abortion justice, but Democratic senators will work to preserve Roe v Wade. I don't want to turn this into an abortion discussion just a basic observation about why they are likely to oppose the choice.

Hypocrisy, really? Harry Reid is the one that did away with the filibuster to cram Obama judges through before they lost the senate. You want to appoint judges win the senate and the White House. Last time I checked republicans had both.

It doesn’t really matter if they oppose or not. They are in the minority Here’s how it goes,
1) they put the nominee up for vote The 3 defectors vote no and Pence breaks the tie. Nominee approved
2). They wait until November and if the Senate stays majority they vote. Nominee approved
3) the Senate flips, they hold the vote before January and Nominee approved
4). Biden wins, they vote before January. Nominee approved
I see no way Trumps nominee doesn’t get approved.

Biden now will not show his SCOTUS picks. He is in a real tough spot knowing that if he presents them, it will reveal that socialist agenda ... which is clearly not just anti gun, but eliminating your constitutional right to bear arms.

I have no doubt you are right. They will oppose the pick on any grounds they can find or make up (media will help them make something up). I have no desire to see abortion debated here, on this site. I understand it's a hill the dems are willing to die on.

He just came out and said he intends to follow the constitute and vote yes for the nominee Trump puts forth. Stated precedent was opposing party Senate votes against the opposing presidents nominee and same party senate as president supports presidents nominee. A lot can happen but I assume Maine senator Collins will eventually vote yes if candidate is a qualified women and dems try to trash. She was very angry at what the dems did to Kavanaugh. Alaska Murchowski will fold also if she is only no vote. As I said, it's politics and a lot can happen. Dems are in no one position, act nice and there extreme left nut cases will slam them. Act poorly and people will see right before the election and that could push a lot of middle ground folks away.

me either in the right circumstance. Went to a college fair where a nice young girl talked about her college catering to the historically marginalized people but was silent when I pointed out the truly marginalized people.

But that wasn’t a habitat forum. It was a college trying to recruit $.
Just kinda want to keep us about habitat and deer.
Plenty of places to talk about what really matters in the world and as much as we think it’s deer, it’s not.

I like our little deer sanctuary...

I agree 100% but also agree with trying to stay away from it even though we talk a great deal on here about non habitat related topics. Those non related habitat topics are based off of current events and IMO are relevant considering the time of year, current state of our country, and the election. If and when there is a trial to reverse roe v wade I can see it as an acceptable time to talk about that issue but hunting season is upon us and I'm certain there are plenty of other topics that we can hash over.
