Was trying to burn a stump out using some old scrap lumber. Grabbed a couple boards and threw them on the fire and turned to grab a couple more and stopped just short of grabbing them when I saw I had an observer.

Tried to get greedy and get both. They smelled me before I got there and I had to run up to an opening for a single shot. My joints aint made for running anymore. First hog pics in months. High water has them pushed up.

Haha - it was in the cup holder on the ranger. The Coors light is probably what helped make that shot - calmed my nerves.

Sprayed gly on a five acre wheat field. That hurt. Was just starting to head out but planning on planting sunflowers soon in that field an five more acres on top the hill on the back ground


Had to work on a feeder. Coons must have shook the wire loose. Critters dont pay much attention to you when u live on the place. Come right back

I had a bee hive the bees had starved to death in last summer that the wax moths had afterwards moved into and destroyed all the comb and made a miserable mess out of the hive. The week before our last big rainy period, a few bees had been checking it out and began cleaning it up. During the week of the big rains, the bees stopped coming. Also during that week I received a box of foundation from Dadant bee supply company so I could clean up the hive, get rid of the old ruined foundation, and replace with new. That box on the hive is the new foundation. About a week ago, the bees came back and started cleaning again. More and more bees showed up everyday. Yesterday, I was riding past one of my active hives and noticed hundreds of bees circling out in front of the hive and thought “those bees are getting ready to swarm”. That active hive is about a 1/4 mile from my house. This morning I rode by the active hive again and notice about half as many bees going in and out and thought they must have swarmed. Went on home, messed around, and grilled some lunch. A little while later, I heard bees where this abandoned hive has been sitting and walked around to look and there were thousands of bees around it and going in and out. As smart as bees can be sometimes, like cleaning their future house up two weeks before they move, I had to wonder when part of the swarm settled on my fruit tree sprayers full of insecticide that could have killed every last bee.

All that material on the hive porch and in front of the hive is what the bees removed from the hive.

At least I have plenty of spare foundation now.

I have caught two swarms this year using some of the dirtiest ,nastiest old comb that I had laying around
