Everyone talking about not knowing how much habitat work helps or if taking out invasives is important need to look at these pics.If you look at the next to the last picture you can see a turkey in the air flying up to roost. That is 32 yards from my deer blind. First pic is 10 yards.

Yep, decline of two.Great bird! Many states are experiencing a decline in turkey numbers. Your pictures would not indicate your ground is experiencing the same thing.![]()
Thanks Mort and congrats to your kids. I only have bathroom scales to weigh with and came up just shy of 22 lbs. I fell like it was more like 24 but can’t prove it.Congrats on the harvest. Did you weigh them? My kids got a couple this week that weighed 22 each. That's about the average size here of a gobbler. You have a great turkey farm.
Thanks Bows. They are still feeding on leftover soybeans from last year. The new beans just got planted a couple of days ago. You're gonna need to build another room/man cave for all your outdoor trophies, Native!! Those are some hefty toms.

Yes, we are close to drought conditions here. I’ve never seen it this dry in April. You must be drier than us. I've been here almost a week and have seed but it's muddy. Maybe next month...
Same hereYes, we are close to drought conditions here. I’ve never seen it this dry in April.
I just did some research, and it's actually worse than I thought. We are in what they call D2 (severe drought) conditions. Year to date we are at the 5th driest year in the last 132 years per what I just found.Same here
Have you tried taking your lawnmower and leaving it outside? That usually brings rain for me 9 out of 10 times.I just did some research, and it's actually worse than I thought. I hope you and I both get some relief soon. I just planted a few more fruit trees, and I'm watering them about every 5 days until this ends.
