A few habitat pics I thought you might enjoy

Curious, why the two cameras on the same spot?

Because it’s one of my best spots to get good pics, and cameras sometimes fail. If I have a failure, I have a second chance of getting the pictures I want. It’s worth it to me to place two cameras. I also own 4 vehicles, and 6 deer rifles.

What am I looking at, Native? Honestly I know velvet can be deceiving, but I don’t think there is any deception here. He’s gonna finish over 170” right? More? What is your opinion? And score doesn’t matter, just helps me gauge size on a big boy like that. Incredible as always!

Yes, I think he finishes just above or just below 170. The mass is hard to judge in velvet. Here is a closer pic from the other camera.

Ah yes, as goes the old adage: Two is one and one is none.

Three Observations: 1) The ribbons and camera on the tree will scare deer away. 2) The ground looks like a biological desert. There will be no deer if there is no food. 3) The brush pile will attract rabbits, which will attract bobcats, thus scaring deer away. Gee, Native Hunter should hire me as his land consultant given all of these keen insights :-)

Seriously, those are some great pictures that show what you are doing is working. Congratulations.

Looks great. I want to start trying the strips this year.

Looks great all around .... some day I want to grow up and be a Native Hunter!

PS your Kentucky deer must like the heat way better than our KS deer. When it is this hot and miserably humid I almost never get a picture of a deer during daylight, no matter the sex or age. Last cool front a couple of weeks ago when we had highs in the low 80s I had a bunch of movement during daylight.
