This buck scored 146 in early November. Not the highest buck (score) but he was a brute (212) field dressed.

Best memory of this hunt, was he showed up right by my stand at 25 yards and I didn’t see him coming in.

I got ready quick and drew back and smoked him. I’d say it was my best shot in 40 years of hunting and he died in field less than 60 yards away .

That whole scenario was worth an extra 20 points to me. I’ll never forget it … & it was 2nd sit on my new farm !

*Fast forward to Dec 8 & I missed a 155-160 inch in Iowa at 75 yards with a .350 Legend (hit a limb I think) 🥺😒. That’s what I love about deer hunting, the highs and lows! No guarantees!IMG_6586.jpegIMG_6580.jpeg

Started deer hunting in 1970. Been hunting Northern Pa. mountains ever since, with a number of trips to Maine in those years. Biggest buck I ever laid eyes on live was around 140" - 150". For those areas of Pa. mountains, a buck of 125" - 130" is a trophy - not likely you'll see one bigger. It's not impossible since AR here, there are bigger bucks than there used to be. When I started, my first buck was a 5 pt. with an 8 3/4" spread - a good buck in 1970 Pa. Shot lots of basket-racks in my younger years - haven't even considered bucks like that for years now. At least now there are more bucks with racks over 100" - but a 130" here is a def shooter. I voted in the 121" to 130" category.
