I used to hunt for a specific size and above. But the last 5+ years I shoot what makes me happy. If I have hunted hard and haven’t seen much and a 110 walks by, look out! I try and hold out if I can, but I’m not picky and I like the meat. To each their own, if someone wants to shoot a spike, good for them! If someone wants to hold out for a 160+ that’s awesome! What makes me roll my eyes is when people name the deer.
I try to focus on age rather than rack size. Last
I’ve never had one scored.
That’s a pretty deerThis will be my 34th year. Hunted in central PA my whole life so I have a pile of 4 pts through basket 8's. The whole pile probably wouldn't score as high as one of Baker's bucks. LOL
Two years ago, killed my biggest by far an 8 pt that scored 119. Passed on one that would've been bigger last year but he had one side broken off just above the ear. I think that I've probably only seen one buck that would go over 140 on the hoof and that was of course on a Sunday (we can't hunt on Sundays) and I was going in to check trail cameras.

Thanks. He was the first buck I ever got to stick around after a year. He was a homebody too. Hunted him hard through archery, never saw him even though he was on camera almost daily and in the daylight often. Then the first day of rifle he walked right up and stopped broadside directly between my dad and I couldn't shoot. I had to let him keep walking and eventually got a clear shot before he got away. That’s a pretty deer

Let me introduce you to Bob. He has double split ears just like my kid's cat at home named Bob. Bob got the pass twice last year, he won't be as fortunate this year.
That's a dandy!
Oh man, Bob messed up and I’m glad he did! Congrats!Since I see this thread got resurrected, here's a pic of Bob after expiration.
