Weed ID in LC Mix Rye/Clover

H80Hunter

5 year old buck +
Planted the LC rye mix last year in a small plot of mine. Long story short, we planted on the early side and got a ton of rain. Got away with it in a plot with heavier use. However, in this plot, we had a spot where the oats got too tall, headed out, and the excess straw/debris this spring created a bald spot that filled in with a weed (the small leaved short growing plant in the pic).

The weed is prominent in the plot (among the clover and Rye, which there is plenty of), even areas that weren't bare to start the year.

Now, this year I'm not concerned about it because we're going to nuke with gly soon, mow and replant LC Rye mix. But, if this is an issue next year, what should I do with this weed, we saw it last summer too in this plot (was buckwheat/cowpeas). I assume a springtime spraying of something could knock it back?

It appears to be either black medic or lesser trefoil, both annual weeds. 2,4D will kill it.

Looks like black medic. I have a ton of it too. It's a nitrogen fixer, like clover, so I don't worry about it.
