I have a tiny little field that a neighbor put beans in last year. After harvest last fall I put in rye and it did great. Reallly thick and he harvested the rye and drilled in short beans. I can’t remember when that was but it was fairly late. Beans came up well but the pigweed went crazy. Never seen anything like it. They sprayed but I don’t know if it did any good.
Just goes to show that sometimes you unintentionally create perfect conditions for bad outcomes.
