I was looking at a mostly ignored pear tree and found a graft from two years ago that took.

We will call this rooting experiment a failure. One has held on to a leaf for six weeks. Only one was branched. Could that be the key to some success?

This seedling needs thinning but I am not carrying a ladder through the corn to get to it.

Support still there from two years ago. I need to sample these crabs for cider.

I did clip off a few water sprouts.

Three year old topwork also needs thinning, but it won’t get done. I hope it does not snap off.

Not too bad of a sample for the orchard expansion.

I was expecting a pH of 5.6 or so.

Not a bad looking topwork in post #707, Art. It ought to be a good tree. Corn is looking good too.

Looks like you've had enough moisture for everything to be growing good. Looks good!

WOW !!! That's a great looking bean plot. Deer don't eat them at this time of year there ??

It is intended mainly for forage. There are some signs of use but not as much as I thought.

I am standing in one of the cross trails I cut across the corn rows. There deer are using the trail. This picture is of a finger of the field that was the spill from digging a pond about 30 years ago. The pond is to the right of the photo and apples trees, then swamp to the left.

First fish caught on a fly rod in 48 or 49 years. Not a monster by a long ways, but I hope to do more of this.

This winter a friend gave me his old fly rod. It was a Coast to Coast classic from the ‘60’s or early 70’s. I gave him a thank you with $10 and some venison.

Fly fishing is plenty of fun for ANY fish you try for. It's my favorite method of fishing. I hope you get lots of time on the water with that fly rod, Art !! Nice retirement tool.
