The Land of Milk and Honey

That is a SWEET setup. The 4 row would be awesome for milo. I really wish I would have bought a setup like this and added a mid-range skidsteer instead of buying a 40 hp Kubota with FEL.

I got the parts for my 1230 JD planter that I picked up last year yesterday. I should be able to plant 4 rows now instead of 2 now.... LOL I am looking forward to the day I can no-till plant. My oats that I planted earlier this Spring look to be about the right height now to terminate and plant my beans. However, I am guessing I am going to have to spray glyphosate, wait a week or 2 and till and then plant.

Nothing wrong with a secret plot🙂

Have you tried daiken radish,my deer eat them 10X better than turnips

Catscratch if you thought the canopy was legit, get a load of this sexy beast! 3020 with a hard cab! Corn going in tomorrow!

Please tell me that has a working AC... other wise hottest thing on earth to drive! Pretty awesome setup!!!

I tried radish and turnips for a few years. Nothing touched them, but they sure looked good 🙂

They won't eat my turnip and radish bulbs, but they love radish tops. I can tell ya a field of rotting turnips smells horrible in the spring. Don't plant them up wind of the house...

204 AC. 2 open windows, 04 miles per hour down the road! It’s actually not bad with the side and back windows open. I told dad I’m gonna get to work on this tractor next. It needs a little work, but will pull the whole earth if you needed it to.

Cheap A/C 😁 Need a 12 V fan though.

That looks like a good plan. When the deer some from the SW, are they bedding in the open area that looks grassy in the aerial photo?

I wish we could mow standing corn in Minnesota, but it is illegal here. You can hunt standing corn and you can hunt corn combined or chopped for ag purposes, but you can't mow standing corn and hunt over it.

Give it a few more days and it will really pop. 2” of rain and highs in the 80’s with plenty of sun? Better than I hoped for!

Trying to find time to terminate my oats and plant beans.

You got gobs of time left for beans. You getting these rains too? Is it too wet?

1.5" last night. It will be too wet for a couple of days at least. I think I planted them closer to the 1st of June last year. I am basically looking at them more for a green leaf attraction than the grain. Of course grain production would be a bonus. My primary focus is hunting earlier than later in the season.

And you're still in the slow growth stages. Wait til it gets rooted in. You'll be able to see it grow. Good job! What pop did you drop?

I am waiting a couple more weeks for sure to plant beans. My SIl just started today planting ag beans and I want my to be younger than the surrounding ag.

Any sign of the "ONE" yet?I would like to find a cultipacker just not many around here

That's a beautiful site. Happy you got the rains.

Not yet. None of my bigger ones have showed, but that’s not uncommon given our lack of bedding. Plus the drought interrupted my plots last year so I lack food at the moment.

Keep an eye out everywhere you go. I bought some apple trees at a nursery in Topeka 6-7 years ago. When I drove back to load them there were 2 cultipacker sitting behind an old building. I asked if they would sell one. He told me to make an offer and $150 later it was in my truck too!

Several years ago.....I put a WTB add on Craigs List for a cultipacker. Farmer called me up.....negotiated over the phone and I drove about 50 miles to pick it up. Never know how you will find stuff. I see 'em on FB Marketplace quite often.

Don't give up on NWSG,hardly grows first year.I usually keep mine mowed to 12-18 inches first year

Finally had one of the bucks I thought was 3-1/2 or 4-1/2 last year show back up. He’s got some nice brows! If it is the one I think it was, he was a beautiful 150” 10 pointer last year.

Booner alert 🚨

He looks great at this point. What did he look like last year?

He looks like he might have a decent amount of junk ready to blow up this year based off last year's pics.

Corn looks great, how many acres is that and what time of year do the deer utilize it in Kansas?
