The Adventures of CrazyED the beach sand guy

How's your prairie spy growing ed? I don't think mine has moved an inch. Hopefully it's just sleeping this year. Nice to see some apples!

It's branching out ok.

If I gave you a dud I will replace it. Both of those prairie spys were pretty good growers, but maybe yours has more transplant shock than mine I dont know.

Great looking pics! Thanks for sharing them.

Hey Ed. It feels like I just hiked all over the farm :D. Great pics as usual. Great orchard you have started and it will just keep getting better. A Kerr Crab is on my grafting list for next spring and your Wolf Rivers sure are putting on some growth, just might have to look into one of them too. Like the wildflower pics. You do have a ton of milkweed. I try to mow around any milkweed on the Back40. They do attract a lot of insects but I haven't seen a Monarch for several years:(. Thanks for taking us on a tour of the farm.

Rick

Great pictures Ed - Your orchard is doing well. Thanks for sharing...;)

Very nice update. Keep them coming.

Finally made it back up to the farm today.

Broadcast a ton of winter rye into my early summer planted brassicas. I have 2 plots about 1/3 acre each and they are works in progress but seem to be improving little by little each year.

I am really impressed with the Kerr. Nice sized apple crab! So glad I stuck 2 of these in the ground 3 years ago and grafted a few more this past spring.

3rd leaf centennial crab looking excellent! I'm also very impressed with this one, it has excellent fruit size for a crab, probably 1.75-2.0". I picked one and cut it in half and shared it with my dad. First apple off the farm and it was pretty good.
