Well crap! I was hoping to go 3 for 3 on finding spikes but all I could come up with this evening were these. Maybe next time...

Interesting thing about the 6 (12) pointer. I've shot a couple 12pt'rs off the place that had the same hook point near the base. Must be tied together genetically. Always on their left.

Nice finds, Cat. Those 6 point typs are really rare over here. I've killed two with a 6 point typ side, but both had a 5 oppo side. Maybe less than half a dozen 6 sheds ever. One of my favorite sheds is a 6 point typ yearling. I've had better luck finding spike sheds than accumulating 6's, be it sheds or harvested.

Typical 12s are rare here too. I've just been really lucky to have shot a couple.

It's hard to show how small it is. I've never seen a picture of a smaller 6.

He was a 6x6 the next yr. Have 1 of the sheds in the pile somewhere. The next yr after that he was again a 6x6. Our farmhand at the time got him with bow. Probably mid 140s. Nothing spectacular, but I guess he was making growth on schedule. Before the trail cam era.

I think your 6 point was laying there at least a year. Any idea what became of him?

Think I agree with Mozark. Top one looks bigger at first glance but that's just because it has a large bur. Left has a bigger pedicle so maybe more antler?

Top one reminds me of a 3 point side from an old war horse we had growing up. That's my pick.

Pretty good reasoning. Thanks for playing. From left it's a 75" 3 yr. He was a 125" 2 the prior yr based on shed. Middle with the giant bur was maybe a 3, not really sure. Have a trail pic where he looks pretty young. On right it's a 5+. Have 4 straight yrs of his sheds where I think he was 5 up to 8. Before trail cams.

Found a few more this afternoon. 2 matched set, 2 others that match antlers I've found previously. A couple of nice rubs. Snow is nice but the wind is about a bazillion miles per hour. Founding them in the middle of nowhere pasture hillsides.

Finally made it for a walk. Wind chill was hovering around zero. Two sheds in about 2 hours. I’ll take it!
