Yessir! Dave and the new owner sent me this picture! I knew it was just a matter of time in that neck of the woods! It’s just endless miles of timber. Looks like a respectable bear too! 250lb maybe? I talk to Andy the new owner and Dave pretty regularly. Great guys! You may have already seen this - my old neighbor (a fireman coincidentally) is a buddy of the guy who bought your old place. He’s been helping do a little work out there. He sent me this trail cam pic from your old place last week. Not sure if you ever had any bears there before. But we’re hearing about sightings in our area of Crawford county too. Thought you might find it interesting. How’s the new place looking?View attachment 30451
Glad things are going well. Dave is my old neighbor and a great guy. I’m glad your old place went to people who really appreciate it and will be good stewards of the land and the work you began.Yessir! Dave and the new owner sent me this picture! New farm is going well. It’s being logged at the moment. Should be done just in time for fall food plotting. Anxious to work the dirt down there! Have some big ideas. Just so little time lol
For sure! Andy let me go down and hunt last fall. Of course I killed the best buck of my life off it after I sell! He was genuinely happy for me.Glad things are going well. Just back to say hello habitat talk friends!
With 6 growing kids life is busy!
Work, side business, and coaching wrestling are keeping me busy...
I still own a 214 acre farm but haven't hunted it in 3 seasons. Don't worry, I have still been hunting just not that tract! This is because I am blessed to be on a lease that is 4 miles from my home. The lease is a large tract an is unbelievable deer habitat. It has lots of ag in a non ag area. High deer densities and a farmer that wants lots of does killed means my boys are getting plenty of trigger time! My oldest (13) stoned a doe at 280+ on Monday. Sitting by himself. That was a proud dad moment. I was blessed to fill my archery and firearm tag with good mature bucks.
I still tinker with habitat work on my 12 acres at home. I'm up to 80+ trees in my home orchard. Handful of chestnuts and other fun trees.
Life is good friends. My family is healthy. I am Blessed beyond measure.
Here are a few pics of the family and our harvest this year.
An the black eye is a sign wrestling season is upon us! Lol

Quite the feeling right!Congrats on the growing family and the deer success. Nothing like kids and the outdoors. Huntin' & fishin' make for good pastimes / passions. I Imagine wrestling matches & practices with your crew keeps the roads hot! As for your proud Dad moment when your son shot one - it's quite a feeling isn't it?
Keep up the great work of raising your family and your farming & habitat work!! Thanks for posting.

A remote handshake to your son for a job well-done!!Quite the feeling right!
I never dreamed these kids would be so capable at such a young age. They are so eager to learn and do it themselves.
My 13 year old was my right hand man with my landscaping business this year. It increased my productivity significantly! I didn't have high expectations and was blown away!
