Redneck Soft Shell Blind

One of the projects for the weekend was getting this blind together and in place out to the land.

This is what you see when you open the box:

The blind is 6' x 6' so I had to take it to the land to put it together. It's too big to put together and put in the back of the truck.

Here you can see the frame almost put together. For reference the gentleman you see in the blind / frame is 5' 10" tall.

The frame is fairly easy to put together. Everything is marked pretty well and you only need a 3/8" and 7/16" wrench to put together:

While it's easy to put together, pick your help wisely:

We moved the frame into place and then spread out the cover. Again, pick your help wisely.

With the cover on the frame:

The cover has velcro and bungees that goes around the tubing to hold it in place.

It has windows on the corners and all four sides plus it has a big door to get in and out of.

Here are some pictures taken from inside the blind out over the food plot, just to give you an idea of window size.

I will be interested to see how you like it. They were selling very well at Deerfest last weekend. I would like the metal 6' stand too. Price for cameo is about $ 350

And here are some pics of the windows covered. The window covers just slide up and down on the bungees. It's easily done one handed.

You get two pieces of rebar that you hammer into the ground to hold the frame in place.

I own two Rhino XP-1 blinds which is a "regular" hub style blind that many different manufacturers sell. They're ok but I wanted something a littler bigger that can also stay out all year round. I've broken over 10 of the replacement rods between the two Rhino blinds. When I bought the Rhino's they had free lifetime replacement rods but another party bought them out and they don't honor the lifetime replacement rods anymore. Now they sell for $20 a rod.

Here are a couple pictures of the Rhino blind next to the Redneck:

I don't brush in my ground blinds so that's how it'll sit. I believe it's better to let them sit out in the open and let the deer get used to it faster.

Looks nice! Price?

I paid $399 and got it directly from Redneck, which took about three days to get. I didn't pay shipping or any sales tax.

I wanted to see this in person before I bought and was able to do it at Deerfest. They were selling them there for $385 plus tax. They actually sold out at the show but it was still cheaper to order direct from Redneck.

Could you put a portable heater in it? Would it stay warm?

You could use a portable heater to help keep the chill out but not sure if it will stay warm when the heater is not in use.

And here are some pics of the windows covered. The window covers just slide up and down on the bungees. It's easily done one handed.

Are the window screens designed for shooting your bow through?

I don't believe so. They seem to be thicker than the window mesh on the Rhino blinds I have.

I can say the window screens slide up and down very easily and are very silent. I liked them.

Nice review. Let us know how the hunter(s) like it.
