Pine Hill Farm

That is a beauty! Nice work, Tooln & enjoy it Cool Hand! Any details on the build?
The blade is high carbon 1095, it's been heat treated and tempered. It was then etched if a ferric chloride/vinegar mix to the desired darkness. After that it was vibratory tumbled in a ceramic/stone mix. This give it a super smooth finish and unique look. Handle is black walnut with a thin leather spacer between the walnut and antler piece. The pins are brass with one being for a lanyard. There is no stains or sealers on the handle. Just hand sanded and buffed. The sheath is hand made to fit the blade and hand tooled. Luke has a signature that he uses. He provided a pic of it and I put it into my lasers software and etched it into the blade. This thing is tough and super sharp.

Beautiful! Thank you for sharing. Now, all the sudden, I'm thinking I need a new knife 🤣

When your ready I'm sure we can work something out. I am to please.

That's cool that you were able to laser in a custom signature on the blade. That's a very nice-looking knife.

Getting lots of visitors as spring warms up!

Well kind of. Was born and raised on a farm, self taught welding rusty farm stuff at 10. Spent 30+ years in the dairy, cheese and butter industry as a mechanic, welder & fabricator. Made my first knife when I retired. It was only going to be 1 for me. Well that didn't work. I hit number 200 just after the first of the year. I held a give away for that one. I have them in over a dozen states.

OK, that vid was awesome!
Nice knife.

Frost seeded switch is just starting to germinate in the old corn field. I planted about 6.5lbs/acre. It's looking a little sparse but with it barely poking out, I think another week will show how much truly took. Plots have been nuked and hit with the finisher one last time. Friday is planting day for plots and switch borders. Then I'm backing out a couple months and let nature take it's course! IMG_4299.jpgIMG_4307.jpg

Hard work turning into blessings! Have never seen more then two at a time and usually pictures are sometimes weeks apart. Best I can tell from all the pics, 5-6 bucks and at least 2-3 does. One buck is already looking to have some good potential. Also looks like there's an old warrior with a busted ear and stout body. Pretty awesome considering this property has never held deer nor really had much activity.IMG_4393.JPG IMG_4394.JPGIMG_4395.JPG

That's really cool. Where do you think they are bedding?

You have several nice bucks there, you just need them to stick around until bow opener!

Thanks, I hope good food and grass cover will keep their girlfriends here! They're bedding about 300yds across an open ag field that's bordered with a CRP strip. They all traveled over last night for some reason, maybe the rain.

I had to turn my best camera into a repeater because the rye in my plot got too tall. Knocked it down today so I made the camera a remote again. Excited to see what shows. The racks are really starting to take their form now. You have some good ones there. Be exciting to watch them fill out!

Thanks T. I am excited! Everyone told me it would take years to see changes. I'm thinking that's not the case. You having good luck with the Rye?

It sure puts on the tonnage. I’m doing a rye/buckwheat/brassica rotation this year. Seeing if I can use less herbicide.

I will say the deer ate the rye plenty good this spring. I think I’m gonna struggle with a lambsquarter explosion though. I hauled in a bunch of composted manure from dad’s wintering location a few years ago and it was full of seed…
